The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 2: She Came Back After Dark

William wakes in the Citadel of Aeris, a city where angels and demons live side by side. His two guardians admit they watched the car hit him and could do nothing to stop it. Then the angel rests her fingers on his arm, and her hand begins to glow. One touch, and she is shining. So what exactly is he to them? The answer lands like a slow shiver: 'Food.'

Both guardians are sent away so the human can rest. The angel promises to return and explain everything. The demoness only smiles, as if she has other plans. Alone, William wonders where a mortal fits in a world like this. Then night falls in Episode 2. The candle flickers, the curtain stirs, and Asmodea slips inside in red straps and a wicked grin. 'It gets lonely in here, doesn't it? Want to have a little fun?' When he asks what she is, she only hushes him.
