The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 6: Marked by Him

High above the clouds, in a pavilion ringed by blossoming trees, Angel finally confesses. Yes, she does it too. Angels pass mana to one another so no one starves. It is a duty, and she is not supposed to enjoy it. 'But with you, I'd want to try it for real.' William wants the same. Her kiss is sweeter than he ever dreamed, and before long the white lace and the shyness have both slipped away.

What follows in Episode 6 leaves her glowing, quite literally. Golden marks swirl across her skin, and she guesses it is too much mana, the same surge that gave Asmodea her wings. Is she all right? More than all right, she says, breathless at what they shared and at the view around them. Hand in hand they wander back, straight into a golden-crowned archangel, and those shimmering new marks are impossible to hide.
