The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 5: Even Angels Get Hungry

William coughs up blood in Episode 5, and nobody can explain why. Angel settles him beside the fountain and promises to hurry back with something to help. But soft, strange sounds drift through the marble corridors, and he cannot stay still. He follows them to a half-open door and stops, breathless. Inside, angels are entwined, their eyes glowing blue as something bright flows between them. So this is how heaven feeds itself.

Angel finds him there, cheeks flushed. 'I told you to wait.' She tugs him away, clearly wishing he hadn't discovered this so soon. Now a single question burns in William, and he needs to hear the answer: does she share herself like that too? Her reply is a promise and a tease all at once. She will tell him, just not here. Taking his hand, she leads him out into the garden, and the air between them grows warmer with every step.
